Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties
(Royal College of Surgeons of England)
About the MJDF
The Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS Eng) has been developed jointly by the Faculty of General Dental Practice (FGDP UK) and Faculty of Dental Surgery (FDS).
It currently replaces and combines the old MFGDP RCS Eng and MFDS RCS Eng diplomas.
It is aimed at all registered dentists whether they may be in general dental practice, community or in specialist/secondary dental care services.
The aim is to assess knowledge, competency and understanding of what is required to provide quality assured dental care.
MJDF acts as the start point for FGDP UK career pathways and for dentists who like to further their careers. It is also a desirable requirement for a number of postgraduate programmes.
The Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS Eng) consists of 2 parts:
Examination; assess knowledge and applied knowledge through written exam papers:
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
Extending Matching Questions (EMQ).
Single Best Answer (SBA) questions.
