• To review the history and examination procedures for patients requiring removable partial prostheses.
• To describe and demonstrate the process of surveying and its use with articulated study models
when planning to provide removable partial prostheses. 
• To review the principles of denture design and demonstrate and practice their implementation in constructing partial dentures.
• To describe impression techniques used to record partially dentate denture bearing areas.
• To describe techniques used to register the position of the mandible to the maxilla.
• To describe how manipulation of the registration rim can improve appearance.
• To describe the process of taking a shade and mould for the partially dentate patient.
• To understand the concepts behind producing an aesthetic and natural smile with removable partial dentures.
• To describe why dentures fail and how to resolve these problems at the fit and review stages.
• To describe how to educate the patient to maintain their dentures.
• To discuss what options are available when all else fails.

Neil has worked with the dental community for over 20 years, providing advice on all areas of radiation protection in order to help the recipient demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999 [IRR99] and the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000 (as amended) [IRMER]. He holds a ‘Certificate of Competence to be a Radiation Protection Adviser’, as recognised by the Health and Safety Executive [certificate number 00001146]. In addition to radiation protection advice, he provides medical physics expertise to dental customers.
